我的老家江苏省东台县浒河乡是老解放区,抗日战争时期属于新四军的苏北根据地,有一段时间,粟司令(当时他任新四军苏北指挥部副司令员)就常住在我家。那时,敌后人民抗日战争处于极其严峻的阶段,日本侵略军对我进行空前残酷的进攻,同时国民党反动派一次又一次地发动反共高潮,新四军英勇顽强地坚持抗日战争。1940年7月,粟司令率领新四军的队伍从苏南渡江到达苏北,向日寇占领区进击,建立了以黄桥为中心的根据地,他的指挥部、机要室都设在我家堂屋里。我们一家人主动把房间让出来,搬到厨房里住。虽然我不过是个十二三岁的小孩,对当时的情景有着深刻的印象。
My hometown of Huhe, Dongtai County, Jiangsu Province, was an old liberated area. During the war of resistance against Japan, the northern base belonged to the New Fourth Army. In July 1940, Commander Su had led the New Fourth Army troops from the southern Jiangsu sub-region to the north of Jiangsu Province and attacked the occupied areas of the Japanese invaders. As a result, the command center and confidential room at the base of the Yellow Bridge were established in our house. Our family take the initiative to let out the room, moved to the kitchen to live. Although I was only a 12-year-old child, I was impressed with the scenes of the time.
