According to “Jakarta Post” reported that the Indonesian Ministry of Forestry recently plan to withdraw the 12-year ban on timber exports. According to statistics from the Ministry of Forestry of Indonesia, before the ban on export was promulgated, deforestation in Indonesia had reached 4.5 million hm2 per year and dropped sharply to 350 hm2 per year in recent years. The ban effectively prevented the illegal exploitation of forestry in Indonesia. However, the Ministry of Forestry said the ban on overkill has caused a downturn in the domestic forestry industry. Therefore, it is proposed to resume the ban and boost exports so as to revive forestry. However, this plan has aroused opposition from environmental groups. “Greenpeace ”
