On June 28,2007,approved by the 31 st World Heritage Committee held in Christchurch,New Zealnd,Kaiping Diaolou and villages were inscribed in the World Heritage List and became the 35th world heritage in China.They were also the first Chinese world heritage that reflects the culture of overseas Chinese.In fact,as early as June 25,2001.as an important historical site and representative buildings of moderm China,Kaiping Diaolou and villages were already listed by the State Cultural in the 5th national key Cullul.itl relic protection units.
