Western newspaper exploration in the digital transformation has lasted for many years, at present there are roughly three vaguely identifiable path, that is, the New York Times as the representative of digital charges, daily mail, represented by the free and open, The number of representatives is preferred. Although they overlap in practice, but different ideas, the effect is different from each other. Among them, there are many expositions on the former two, but there is still a lack of follow-up and discrimination on the latest progress. The third party’s attention is obviously not enough. The “digital first” is confused with other transitional practices on many occasions. By taking the typical case as an example, we can sort out and analyze the above three paths for the reference of the industry.
