1998年10月21日～25日,第十五届全国中学生物理竞赛决赛在黑龙江省大庆市铁人中学举行.来自全国30个省、市、自治区(西藏、港澳台除外)的121名选手参加了这次决赛.决赛历时5天,分理论笔试和实验操作两部分.经过激烈角逐,评出一等奖20名、二等奖46名、三等奖55名.单项奖4名.单项奖分别是:江苏苏州中学的蒋良获总成绩最佳奖,辽宁沈阳东北育才学校的张驰获理论成绩最佳奖,湖南省师大附中的付云华获实验成绩最佳奖,浙江宁波效实中学的袁方获女同学成绩最佳奖.赛后通过综合考试选拔出15～20名选手作为国家集训队到中国科技大学集训,
