社会林业以人人参与、人人得益为本质特征，以家庭经营为基础，以协调人与自然的关系为最终目标，是实现林业可持续发展的新型制度。本文从上述三个方面论述了社会林业与林业可持续发展的关系。
Social forestry takes the participation of all people and the benefit of all as its essential characteristics. Based on family management, social forestry takes the coordination of the relationship between man and nature as the ultimate goal and a new type of system for achieving sustainable forestry development. This article discusses the relationship between social forestry and forestry sustainable development from the above three aspects.
