Described herein is a method of accurately identifying daughter minerals extracted from fluid inclusions using microscopy techniques and a Gandolfi X-ray camera (Gandolfi, 1967). Experimental Methods The double-sided polished sheet and cleaved sheet were examined under a microscope and the fluid inclusions containing the daughter crystals were circled. Whenever possible, use the enclosure near the top surface so that the amount of minerals that must be removed in order to access the enclosure is at a minimum. It is best to first make preliminary assessment based on the optical and physical properties of the daughter crystal phase
