The relationship between father and Mao Zedong has both intimate and profound aspects as well as uncoordinated and conflicting aspects. At his father’s memorial service, Chairman Mao said emotionally: “Chen Yi is a good comrade who has made contributions to the Chinese revolution and the world revolution. This is the conclusion.”
