Q wave is a relatively insensitive indicator of misdiagnosis when the disease is anatomically located, and does not necessarily mean transmural infarction. In addition, the discovery of new Q waves on the ECG of patients who had coronary bypass surgery with a higher percentage raised new insights and controversies about Q waves.
