中国社会科学院《西亚非洲》双月刊新编辑委员会于1994年10月20日宣布成立,并举行了首次在京编委会议。北京地区的绝大多数编委出席了会议。西亚非洲研究所党委书记兼副所长邵长厚和本刊编辑部全体同志也出席了会议。 西亚非洲研究所所长赵国忠同志主持会议,并宣布《西亚非洲》双月刊新编委会成立。他在开幕词中说,本刊是由中国社会科学院资助、西亚非洲研究所主办的学术性、理论性刊物。创刊15年来,历届编委会,特别是前任主编陈公元同志和编辑部全体同志,为办好刊物做了大量工作,从而使本刊在国内外都享有一定的声誉和影响。赵国忠同志表
The new Editorial Committee of the “Bimonthly Journal of West Asia and Africa” of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences was announced on October 20, 1994 and the first editorial board was held in Beijing. The majority of editorial board members in Beijing attended the meeting. Shao Changhou, party secretary and deputy director of the Institute for West Asia and Africa, and all the editorial staff of this magazine also attended the meeting. Comrade Zhao Guozhong, director of the Institute for West Asia and Africa, presided over the meeting and announced the establishment of a new editorial board of the bimonthly “West Asia Africa.” In his opening remarks, he said that this magazine is an academic and theoretical publication sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and hosted by the Institute of West Asia and Africa. Since its publication 15 years ago, all previous editorial boards, especially former Comrade Chen Gongyuan and all the editorial departments of the former editor-in-chief, have done a great deal of work in order to do a good job of publications so that this magazine enjoys a certain reputation and influence both at home and abroad.
