岱海林场位于岱海东南岸,是凉城县一个国营事业单位。全场林地总面积17.825亩,分布在8个公社24个大队范围内,木材蓄积量约1.5万立方米。林场下设一个营林点,一处苗圃,一处果园,现有固定职工30人,大中型机械设备9台。多年来,由于受左的思想影响和十年动乱的干扰破坏,这个场经营管理混乱,劳动纪律松驰,人心不齐,生产成果不大。党的三中全会以后,情况虽有好转,但由于思想不解放,生产大帮轰,分配大锅饭,职工的积极性调动不起来,生产仍然徘徊不前。
