Rita Dove is a talented poet. Her poems are not bound by the limitations of the times and their own ethnic identities. She explores the abstract themes of life, cosmos and perception. In about four hundred years of Afro-American hardship history, Duff has gained more than just his own national pride and pride, but to a greater degree his own identity as an American. After experiencing the Haarlem Renaissance and the vigorous black civil rights movement, the Afro-American poet can finally stand tall, no longer care about writing for blacks or white carols, but in full accordance with the true inner thoughts. The era of blacks seems to come.
