By limiting the irreversible mutations on chromosomes, safe Salmonella attenuated strains can be obtained. Such attenuated strains have proven to be excellent oral vaccines in several animals and may therefore be considered as candidate bacterins for use in anti-invasive Salmonella in animals and humans. For some attenuated applications, it is possible to obtain different attenuated levels to obtain strains of different immunogenicity. Since these Salmonella strains are capable of eliciting a range of immune responses, they have been widely used as carriers for the release of heterologous antigens to the mammalian immune system. The authors are working on the development of a single dose of oral tetanus vaccine using Salmonella Strain of attenuated strain to express tetanus toxin non-toxic immunogenic protein (C fragment). Several different expression systems have been used for C-segment expression and candidate vaccine strains that are capable of protecting oral immunized mice against lethal tetanus toxin challenge have been constructed.
