(一) 现当代新歌创作,发端于上世纪末和本世纪初的“洋务运动”与“维新变法”时期。当时,在废除封建科举制的热潮中,兴办起来的新式学堂,都开设了唱歌课,因此,“学堂乐歌”应运而生。这些具有爱国思想和反封建礼教内容的学堂乐歌,是我国近现代歌曲创作中较早的一批作品,有着启蒙意义。“五四”时期,在新文化运动的推动下,创作了一些艺术歌曲。其中一些作品,在不同程度上体现了反帝,反封建的时代要求,在艺术上也有一些新的创造。伟大的中国共产党诞生以来,革命的作曲家和歌手们在党的领导下,为民主革命、抗日
