自生固氮菌是一种广泛生存在土壤中的不与其他植物共生而行自养的有益微生物。它能在常温常压条件下,通过其体内固氮酶的作用,把空气中的氮固定下来形成氨,进一步变成植物可以利用的氮素,对增加农作物产量起着一定的作用。对开辟新肥源,改良土壤,提高有机肥氮素含量。1975年我所由北京原子能利用研究所生物研究室引进自生固氮菌“安郭3”(从盐碱土壤里分离出来的,属于原褐固氮菌属,分泌褐色色素。固氮强度为消耗1克萄葡糖固定12—15毫克氮)。
