Recently,Nature (Vol.480 No.7378_supp ppS81-S121,2011) published a special edition of traditional Asian medicine.The title is derived from traditional Chinese medicine.The topics that this special edition discussed are very comprehensive,embedding the development of traditional medicine tracing from its origin to today\'s debate on its modernization,including ways to evaluate its safety,efficacy and its legislation.Some perspectives in the special edition are very insightful and very heuristic.Here,we would like to share our viewpoints about the way to the convergence of traditional medicine and modern medicine.
