The network environment provides a more favorable and efficient platform for the independent study of college students. To give full play to the advantages of multimedia technology, to change teachers’ roles, to develop students’ self-awareness and to create a relaxed environment for independent study is an effective way to cultivate and develop college students’ self-learning ability in English.
