一代京剧小生巨擘叶盛兰逝世以后,我们时常回忆起他的表演艺术,珍惜他的表演经验。他一生所追求的是,创造性的运用程式技巧,塑造完美的艺术形象。他生前谈过自己的很多表演经验,传授给后学很多表演技艺。现就间接所得材料,择出四项内容,写成四节,凑成一篇,意在使叶派小生表演艺术经验得到传播,供后学参用。这四节中的“三节六合法”、“小生各类脚步”是根据叶盛兰分别讲给萧盛萱、李金鸿二位先生由他们所转述的内容,整理写成的。“小生指法二例”所
