2007年5月14日,温家宝总理在同济大学百年校庆向师生演讲时,说了这样一席话:“一个民族有一些关注天空的人,他们才有希望;一个民族只是关心脚下的事情,那是没有未来的。我们的民族是大有希望的民族!我希望同学们经常地仰望天空,学会做人,学会思考,学会知识和技能,做一个关心世界和国家命运的人。”同年9月4日,温总理在《人民日报》上发表了诗作《仰望星空》:
On May 14, 2007, Premier Wen Jiabao delivered a speech to teachers and students at the Centenary Celebration of Tongji University. He said: “A nation has some people who care about the sky and they have hope. A nation cares about the things under it. There is no future, our nation is a nation of great hope! I hope that students will often look up to the sky, learn to live, learn to think, learn knowledge and skills, and be a man who cares about the world and the destiny of the country. ” On the 4th, Premier Wen published the poem “Looking up to the Starry Sky” in the “People’s Daily”:
