从严治党是我们党加强自身建设的一条基本经验和一贯方针,在改革开放和社会主义现代化建设的条件下,我们党面临着新的严峻的考验,尤其要坚持从严治党。自觉维护和严格执行党的纪律,是坚持从严治党的重要内容,是实现全党统一意志、统一行动的重要保证,是事关党的事业全局的重大任务,务必切实抓好。江泽民同志在年初召开的中纪委三次会议上强调:“从严治党,严肃党纪,最根本的就是全党各级组织和全体党员、干部,都要做到严格按党章办事。这个总要求,应落实到加强党的纪律建设的各个方面。”江泽民同志着重从四个方面提出了当前加强纪律的要求。第一,必须严肃党的政治纪律。第二,必须严肃党的组织纪律。第三,必须严肃经济工作纪律。第四,必须严肃党的群众工作纪律。毫无疑问,自觉维护和严格执行党的这些纪律,是共产党员必须具备的基本条件之一,在当前更具有十分重要的现实意义。

Under the conditions of reform and opening up as well as the socialist modernization drive, our party is facing a new and severe test, with particular emphasis on strictly administering the party. Conscientiously safeguarding and strictly implementing the party’s discipline is an important part of insisting on strictly administering the party, an important guarantee for the realization of the unification of the will and the unification of the party, and a major task concerning the overall cause of the party’s cause. At the three meetings of the Central Discipline Inspection Commission held at the beginning of this year, Comrade Jiang Zemin emphasized: “The most fundamental requirement is to strictly administer the party and strictly carry out party discipline. The most fundamental requirement is that all party members and cadres at all levels in the party should work strictly according to the party constitution. Should be implemented in all aspects of strengthening the Party’s discipline construction. ”Comrade Jiang Zemin emphasized the current requirements for strengthening discipline from four aspects. First, we must be serious about the party’s political discipline. Second, we must strictly discipline the party organization. Third, we must seriously discipline the economy. Fourth, we must strictly discipline the masses of the party work. Undoubtedly, consciously maintaining and strictly implementing these party’s disciplines is one of the basic conditions that communists must possess and is of great practical significance nowadays.
