The United States Burlington Northern Railway (BN) and Santa Fe Railway (SF) merger matters have been approved by the respective board of directors has signed an agreement. Santa Fe Railway shareholders will be converted to stock Santa Fe stock. 27 shares of Burlington Northern Railway stock, for which Burlington Northern Railway will be funded 28 {B dollars. The merged railroad will enable a new name - Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, abbreviated as BNSF.
