Objective: To explore the impact of systemic management on long-term improvement of prognosis in patients with severe bronchial asthma. Methods: Forty-five inpatients with in-hospital bronchial asthma who underwent systematic management in our department from April 2006 to March 2007 were enrolled in this study. The number of acute exacerbations in the first year before system management was calculated by means of questionnaire and their impact on daily work and life Days, number of hospitalizations, lung function, treatment costs and other indicators, and carry out systematic management 1 year after the above indicators before and after their own control. Results: During the first year after system management, the average number of acute exacerbations decreased by 90.3%. The average days of daily work and life decreased by 76.4%. The average number of hospitalizations decreased by 70% and the average cost of treatment decreased by 47.5%. The mean pulmonary function FEV1 increased by 17.6%. Conclusion: Through the systematic management of patients with bronchial asthma, patients’ quality of life and lung function can be significantly improved over the long term, and the cost of treatment has dropped significantly.
