目前,我国内地的上海、青岛、深圳、广州港已跻身世界前五十大集装箱港口之列。 据交通部水运司司长胡汉湘介绍,1997年是我国开展国际集装箱班轮运输的第12个年头,12年来,我国国际集装箱班轮运输取得了迅猛的发展,港口集装箱吞吐量连续12年保持25%的增长速度。1997年突破1000万标箱,集装箱船舶运量达到7224万吨,分别比上年增长31%和27%;由我国内地港口开辟的国际班轮航线有130条,每月2300多个航班。
