By means of comprehensive geological and hydrogeological investigation, geophysical prospecting andhydrogeological drilling the fresh groundwater in Suhongtu area is successfully founded. According tothe analysis on the features of morphosequen, stratum, tectonics, groundwater recharge and discharge,hydrochemistry, and environmental isotopic, the preliminary findings about the formation mechanism ofthe fresh groundwater are presented in the pape. The findings may provide reference to groundwaterexploration in arid regions elsewhere.
