After periodontal scraping of the root surface there is smear layer, it can affect the periodontal tissue healing. Studies have shown that topical application of tetracycline drugs can remove the smear layer of the root surface, promote the attachment of periodontal fibers and to achieve periodontal tissue regeneration.
