Adarco, a biotech company in La Jolla, South Carolina, USA, developed the first anti-cancer drug made with monoclonal antibodies and has recently received FDA approval. The drug is named RITUXAN, which will be used to treat non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. This is a lymphoid cancer diagnosed to death only six or seven years, cancer cells invade the body’s lymph nodes, and then spread and destroy the immune system. The United States has 250,000 patients. Monoclonal antibodies were discovered in 1975 by three researchers at the University of Cambridge in the UK and monoclonal antibodies became a hot topic in biotechnology researchers in the 1980s, but efforts to study anti-cancer drugs have been
