Xinjiang is one of the most concentrated and abundant parts of glaciers in China. Karakorum mountain with its large and snow-covered area, enjoy the “world’s third pole,” said. The longest sound of our country, Sugetti Glacier, developed in the mountainous, heavily dipping valley. At present, the trend of global temperature increase will not be reversed in recent decades, with all the signs that it is getting more and more likely. On the one hand, the temperature is generally rising as a result of the inter-glacial period. On the other hand, human activities have led to the increase of global greenhouse gas emissions and the global warming. Dr. Bill Hale, a well-known German researcher on climate change, estimates that glaciers in Xinjiang will shrink or disappear in the next 25 years, reducing the number of glaciers by 70-81%. It is estimated that by the middle of this century, less than 10% of the glaciers in Xinjiang will be left. After 2070, the Arctic Ocean will cease to exist and the Arctic animals may disappear. There will be no more glaciers in Xinjiang.
