In the past two decades, there has been a common theme emerging in the Australian literary world of a large number of indigenous literary works, namely the awakening of indigenous consciousness of indigenous writers and the quest for cultural identity. Only in this way can people face the past squarely and reconstruct the history of the indigenous people’s digestion, understand and reconstruct the indigenous cultural identity on the basis of historical rewriting, and lay the foundation for future reconciliation and consensus.
