王忠诚院士1925年出生于山东省烟台市,1950年毕业于北京医学院（现北京医科大学）。此后历任天津总医院住院医师,北京同仁医院主治医师,北京宣武医院神经外科主任医师、院长,中国医学科学院北京天坛医院院长。现任中华医学会神经外科学会主任委员。北京市神经外科研究所所长,中国医学科学院神经科学研究所所长,中国医学科学院北京天坛医院名誉院长,世界卫生组织（WHO）神经外科专家咨询团委员,国际脑研究组织成员,美国、日本神经外科学会荣誉会员。1978年荣获全国科学大会奖。1988年获北京市人民政府“有突出贡献的科学家”光荣称号。
Academician Wang Zhongcheng was born in Yantai City, Shandong Province in 1925 and graduated from Beijing Medical College in 1950 (now Beijing Medical University). Since then, he has served as resident physician of Tianjin General Hospital, chief physician of Beijing Tongren Hospital, chief physician and president of Neurosurgery of Xuanwu Hospital, and president of Beijing Tiantan Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. Incumbent Chinese Medical Association neurosurgical Association chairman. Director of Beijing Institute of Neurosurgery, director of Institute of Neuroscience, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, honorary president of Beijing Tiantan Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, member of Advisory Committee of Neurosurgery Department of World Health Organization, member of International Brain Research Organization, Japanese Society of Neurosurgery honorary member. 1978 won the National Science Conference Award. In 1988 by the Beijing Municipal People’s Government “outstanding contribution of scientists” glorious title.
