Main Content in a quiet small town in France， there is a beautiful girl Belle. She likes reading and often reads while walking， so people in the town all regard her as a strange girl.
One day, Belle’s father goes to take part in an invention match, but he doesn’t come back. Belle looks for him, but lost in the forest. She finds an enormous(巨大的) castle(城堡)where her father is imprisoned(囚禁). They are very happy to meet there, suddenly a terrible shadow（影子）appears behind Belle——It is a big ugly（丑陋的）beast!
Beast is the owner of the castle. Because of his cold heart, a witch(女巫)punishes him and changes him into a beast. Until he understands the real love and is loved by a girl wholeheartedly, the magic(魔法)could be removed（解除）.
In order to rescue her father, Belle has to live in the castle. At the beginning，Belle doesn’t get along well with the Beast, they quarrels many times. But with the help of Beast’s lovely servants who also are changed into candle(蜡烛), pot（茶壶）, clock by witch, they understand each other gradually. After the Beast rescues Belle from the wolves, they grow to like each other.
Like all the beautiful fairy tales we have seen, it is a satisfactory ending: Beast becomes the prince again, and the prince marries the beauty. Happy life starts from then on.
在一个宁静的法国小镇里，有一个美丽的女孩儿名字叫贝儿。她喜欢读书，总是一边走路一边看书，所以镇上的人们都把她当作一个奇怪的女孩儿。
一天，贝儿的爸爸去参加一个发明比赛，却一去不回。贝儿去找他，但是在森林里迷了路，她发现了一个巨大的城堡，并且找到了被关在这里的父亲。正当他们为见到彼此而高兴的时候，一个可怕的影子出现在贝儿身后——一头又大又丑的野兽！
野兽原是这个城堡的主人，由于他的冷漠，一个女巫把他变成了野兽。只有当他懂得真正的爱，并且有一个女孩真心爱他的时候，魔法才能解除。
为了救父亲，贝儿不得不住在城堡里。刚开始的时候，贝儿与野兽相处得并不好，他们经常吵架。但是在野兽的那些被女巫变成了蜡烛、茶壶、钟表的可爱仆人们的帮助下，他们开始渐渐了解对方。在野兽从狼群中救出贝儿之后，他们开始喜欢上了对方。
像所有美丽的童话一样，我们看到了一个圆满的结尾：野兽变成了王子，王子娶了美女，幸福的生活由此开始。

《美女与野兽》来源于欧洲的民间故事，迪斯尼公司1991年将它搬上屏幕，受到了极高的赞誉，被提名为当年奥斯卡最佳影片奖。对于一部动画长片来说，被提名本身就是一种艺术上的认可。该片在商业上同样取得了巨大的成功，确实是一部叫好又叫座的卡通电影。不要以为有着花哨外表的卡通片一定都是哄小孩儿的玩意儿，一部能成为经典卡通片的电影，一定得“老少皆宜、童叟无欺”，也就是说得有点内涵。就拿这部影片来说，我们至少能体会出一点——外表并不能代表内心。本片的男主角一改迪斯尼青睐的“俊男”路线，而选用了丑陋的野兽，但他心地善良（虽说开始的时候是因为不善良才变成的野兽，但是他错能改之，善莫大焉）。而本片的最大反面角色Caston则正好相反，是一个虽然英俊但内心狭隘、丑恶的人。而野兽最终又变回了英俊的王子的结局也体现了我们对内心、外表皆美的渴望呢。
