2008年底至2009年初是报业最艰难的时期,那时报企破产的消息接二连三传来,整个行业忧心忡忡。新闻纪录报公司(Journal Register Co.,下简称JRC)是当时破产的几家美国报企之一。作为一家最小的上市报业出版公司,它的破产在当时并不算重大消息,不过,公司在破产之后采取的大胆的数字化改革却引起高度关注。
From the end of 2008 to the beginning of 2009, it was the most difficult time for the newspaper industry to report bankruptcy news one after another, and the whole industry was worried. The Journal Register Co. (JRC) was one of several U.S. newspapers that went bankrupt at the time. As one of the smallest listed newspaper publishing companies, its bankruptcy was not a big news at the time, but the daring digitization that the company took after it went bankrupt attracted a lot of attention.
