经济体制改革之所以乱子出得特别多,与不重视政治文化改革有很大关系。开放十年的主要成就,不在经济方面而在思想文化方面。从历史上看,对外开放从物质层到制度层再到观念层的发展,乃是对外开放不断深入的表现。只要社会精英能不断推进改革,引进新的价值观念,就可以培养出新一代适应竞争的中国人,并使改革和发展获得成功。
The reason why the reform of the economic system is so random is that it has a lot to do with not paying attention to the political and cultural reforms. The main achievements of the 10 years of opening up are not economic aspects but ideological and cultural aspects. Historically, the development of China’s opening up from the physical level to the institutional level to the conceptual level has been an increasingly in-depth manifestation of opening to the outside world. As long as the social elites can continue to push forward the reform and introduce new values, they can cultivate a new generation of Chinese who adapt to the competition and make reform and development successful.
