华北紫丁香及其变种白丁香的开花生物学特性和授粉试验表明：白丁香的单花序花期为５～７ｄ，全树花期为７～１１ｄ，紫丁香比白丁香花期晚１～２ｄ．丁香花的花粉室温下放置２４ｈ发芽率为０，自然结实率、自花授粉及异花授粉结实率都较高，相互之间差异不显著．
The flowering and the pollination experiments showed that the single inflorescences of white lilac were 5 ~ 7d, the whole tree florescence was 7 ~ 11d, and the lilac was 1 ~ 2d later than that of white lilac. The lilac flower pollen placed 24h at room temperature germination rate of 0, the natural seed setting rate, self-pollination and cross-pollination seed setting rate are higher, the difference was not significant.
