三明市地处我省中西部,境内河流纵横,土地肥沃。每年有一定的干湿季,表现为温热湿润的亚热带气候特色。这些对林木的生长发育十分有利,因此林木种类繁多,阔叶树资源相当丰富。据福建省林业勘察设计院一九七四年的调查报告,全市阔叶树蓄积量达230多万立方米,其中格氏栲天然林保护区更是全国闻名。本试验主要研究,格氏栲、黄棉木和软荚红豆等三种本省珍贵阔叶树的木材物理力学性质,同时初步试验了不同采伐时期和浸水处理对格氏栲材性的影响,为有关部门培育和进一步合理利用这些木材,提供科学依据。现将试验结果整理如后,请同志们批评指正。

This experiment mainly studied the wood physical and mechanical properties of three kinds of precious broad-leaved trees such as Castanopsis kawakamii, Betula platyphylla and Sophora japonica. At the same time, the effects of different harvesting periods and flooding treatments on the grain quality were studied, Further rational use of these timber, to provide a scientific basis.
