Based on the survey data of villages and towns in Zhejiang Province, this paper examines the impact of individual and collective capital on mental health on the basis of clarifying the mental health of rural residents. The main findings are: (1) At the present stage, rural residents have mental health problems to varying degrees; (2) Individual capital and collective capital are positive, but individual capital does not have a direct impact on mental health, while collective Capital directly affects mental health positively; (3) The relationship network, social trust and public participation are beneficial to mental health, and the participation of the group can worsen mental health. Social interaction and standard compliance have no significant effect on fitness and health. The findings are the same as the differences between scholars at home and abroad. It shows that the impact of social capital on mental health plays a different role in different social and social groups, and further illustrates the complexity of the relationship between social capital and mental health.
