事实証明,利用原子能防治储粮害虫,不但在理論与技术上可行,而且經济有效,一旦实現,毒性与营养問题就可以得到解决。中国科学院昆虫研究所仓虫工作组使用γ射线对米象、谷丰、麦蛾和赤拟谷盗的各个虫态进行了致死与絕育試驗,已取得的主要成果如下: 1.3000rep对米象卵的制死力几乎达100%,5000rep对它的初期幼虫达100%,10000rpe对它的成虫接近100%,30000rep对它的老熟幼虫蛹和未钻出粮粒的成虫的羽化率只达到对照羽化率的10%。
