查建英北京人,笔名扎西多。1978年至1987年先后就读于北京大学、美国南卡罗来纳大学、哥伦比亚大学,1987年回国。上世纪90年代重返美国,2003年获美国古根汉姆写作基金。现居北京及纽约,已出版非小说类英文著作《China Pop》,中文杂文集《说东道西》,小说集《丛林下的冰河》《到美国去!到美国去!》等。其中《China Pop》被美国《村声》(VillageVoice)评为『1995年度25本最佳书籍之一』,并为《万象》、《读书》、《纽约客》等媒体撰稿。
Cha Jianying Beijing, the pen name Tashi more. From 1978 to 1987 successively studied at Peking University, University of South Carolina, Columbia University, 1987 return. Back to the United States in the 90s of last century, in 2003 by the United States Guggenheim writing fund. He now lives in Beijing and New York City. He has published “China Pop”, a non-fiction English book, “The East meets West” collection of essays, and the novel “The Glacier Under the Jungle.” “To the United States, to the United States!” Among them, “China Pop” was named “one of the 25 best books in 1995” by Village Voice in the United States and contributed to media such as Vientiane, Reading and New Yorker.
