Context is a core concept in modern pragmatics and linguistic communication theory. Based on the relevance theory and the principle of system theory, the author takes pragmatic examples of English-Chinese language and culture as the research object, and analyzes and verifies thoroughly the context system and its functions that affect discourse comprehension and discourse semantics.
