把戏曲故事和表演场面描绘在画面上,称之为戏画;因为戏画多在春节前后出现展示高潮,故又有戏出年画别称。这种绘画体裁的历史,远在宋代已有记载。表现宋元南戏的《眼药酸》、《骷髅格》等,堪称戏画的鼻祖。山西洪洞县广胜寺里的壁画,有生旦净丑灵动逼真的表演场面,也是较早的戏画;从《西厢记》和各种版本的木版插图,可以窥见明代戏曲表演的场面。清代戏
