《说苑》为西汉成帝时刘向校理前代文献整理而成的汇编性质的著作。该书由刘向采用新的分类方法编纂旧有的材料而成,因此具有后世类书的性质。《说苑》收录的材料几乎涉及到了战国秦汉间学术和文化的各个方面,研究价值非常大。
