2012年7月8日,“北山书画——夏冰中国画·中国书法学术展”在中国艺术研究院美术馆开幕,此展览以“北山书画”为题,汇集了夏冰先生60余幅极富代表性的中国画、书法作品。中国画部分展出两大主题作品:《山林系列》与《桃源文章系列》,是作者多次深入太行山、武陵山考察文化,从探究中国山水画哲学精神层面进行的美术创作。书法部分展出了近年的隶书精心之作。夏冰先生自幼及今,日课几无间断,研习两汉隶书尤多,其中《张迁》、《鲜于璜》、《衡方》、西汉摩崖题记,近年出土的刻石、秦简,心摹手追,寓道于心,
