1972年,交通部第四铁路工程局试验采用射水砂井法加固路堤软土地基获得成功。几年来,用这种方法加固了两处软土路基和一座桥梁基础的软土地基,共做了七百根深度不同的砂井。这种方法的主要原理:是用高速喷射的水束,将土壤冲成一定孔和深度的井孔,灌砂而成砂井。已施工的井孔孔径为0.25~0.3米,孔深达18米,射水砂井法使用的主要设备包括:
