回忆在苏州美专的日子,应该说无善可陈,但就人生的经历来说,现在回味还很有意义。我正当少年学习时期,抗日开始了,时局让我只能在私塾和小学转来转去,辍学时间不少,就在家自学古书。胜利后,算有高小毕业,家乡没有中学,就到苏州舅父家上初中补习学校。1947年春在苏州中山堂初中补习班学习时,看到苏州美专招插班生的广告,前去报了名,入学考试画了一张铅笔画,后来学校通知我插入五年制的一年级下学期跟班学习。别的不要考
