2005年10月28日,当代中国研究所举办国史学术讲座第24讲,由中国社会科学院政治学研究所所长王一程研究员作了题为“当代中国政治体制的鲜明特色和发展演变”的学术报告。王一程研究员在报告中指出,我国政府首次于2005年10月19日发表的《中国的民主政治建设》白皮书,全面而深入地阐述了我国社会主义民主政治建设的指导思想、历史进程、基本经验与原则,是我们学习研究我国社会主义革命、建设和改革的历史,特别是共和国政治建设和发展历史的指导性文献。他主要围绕如下三个问题进行了阐述。
