大青山又名阴山。它年代悠久,被称作内蒙古历史的见证。在距今2亿到18亿年以前,内蒙古绝大部分地区还是汹涌澎湃的海洋。后来由于地球自转产生南北向挤压力,海水退走,形成了内蒙古高原。在内蒙古高原上,又形成了一条东西向的隆起带,称作阴山褶皱带。大约到了距今7千万年以前中生代晚期,由于受燕山运动的影响,在这一隆起带中,又产生了一条巨大的同向断裂带。从此断裂带以北的地面不断抬升,形成了一条天然屏障,这就是今日的大青山,它东接燕山,西连乌拉山和狼山,绵延1000多公里,像一条巨龙横卧在内蒙古草原上。断裂带以
Daqingshan, also known as Yinshan. It has a long history and is known as a witness to the history of Inner Mongolia.
