反语的使用常常具有讽刺、幽默或揶揄的意思,能增强语言的表现力,使其张弛有度、含蓄有味。这种话中有话的会话含义不是一种语义理论能解释的,而需做语用的分析。我们不执着于用某种语用理论解释反语生成的心理动机和本质,但可以用这些理论来描述会话中生动活泼的反语,欣赏语言的艺术。《傲慢与偏见》成为小说中的经典与其鲜明的语言特色有很大关系,大量反语的使用就是一大特色。
The use of irony often has the meaning of satirical, humorous or obscene, can enhance the expressive power of language, make it relaxed, implicit flavor.
