High-density lipoproteins are microparticles in plasma, accounting for about 50% by weight of lipids and about 50% by apolipoproteins. The major components of the lipid are 40-50% of phospholipids, 32% of cholesterol and 10% of triglycerides. The main components of the protein are apolipoprotein A-I 65% and apolipoprotein A-II 30%. Recent studies have shown that apolipoprotein can be used to detect myocardial infarction survivors.
