我在中国学现代文学的年代,中国只有一个半作家,一个作家是鲁迅,半个作家是浩然。1973年,中法之间恢复1966年中断了的学生交流。法国接待25名中国学生,并提供生活费,25名法国学生的费用由中国政府提供,我就是在这一背景下来到中国留学的。1975年我在法国已是研究员,当时中国没有研究生方面的交流,也没有现在访问学者这样的机会,于是,我就以学生的身份申请来华学习。来华之初别无选择,统一到北京语言学院学习语言。我们只有两年的奖学金,第一年要在北京语言学院,第二年可以选择一所大学。
