柬埔寨人民党原名“柬埔寨人民革命党”,最早起源于30年代期间的印度支那共产党,其成份十分复杂,包括从越南回国的共产主义知识分子、柬埔寨共产党内部反对派、西哈努克政府和朗诺政府中的部分高级官员以及一些宗教界人士。1975年,柬共内部进行了大清洗,韩桑林等人脱离柬共后成立“柬埔寨救国民族团结阵线”,后更名为“柬埔寨人民革命党”。1979年1月越南入侵柬埔寨后,韩桑林等人在越南的支持下,成立“柬埔寨人民共和国”(即金边政权)。1981年柬人民革命党召开五大,选举韩桑林为总书记。1991年召开的特别会议上进行了较大改组,党名改为“柬埔寨人民党”,选
The Cambodian People’s Party, formerly known as the “Cambodian People’s Revolutionary Party,” originated in the 1930s from the Communist Party of Indochina. Its composition is very complicated, including the communist intellectuals returning from Vietnam, the internal opposition in the CPV, the Sihanouk government and Lon Nol Some senior government officials as well as some religious figures. In 1975, the Cambodian communists carried out a major clean-up. After the departure of Cambodian communists, the Cambodian people established the “Cambodian National Salvation Army,” and later renamed the “Cambodian People’s Revolutionary Party.” After Vietnam invaded Cambodia in January 1979, Han Sanglin et al. Established the “Cambodian People’s Republic” (ie, the Phnom Penh regime) with the support of Vietnam. In 1981, the Cambodian People’s Revolutionary Party held its 5th Congress and Han Sarin was elected as general secretary. A major reorganization was held at a special meeting held in 1991 with the party’s name changed to “Cambodian People’s Party”
