从2013年11月18日~12月10日的近一个月时间里,美国陆军首次成功使用高能激光移动演示装置(HEL MD)拦截了90多枚迫击炮弹和数架无人机。HEL MD项目源自美国陆军高能激光技术演示器(HEL TD)项目,HEL TD项目是美国陆军高能激光计划的基础,该项目旨在研发一种激光武器系统,显著改善美军士兵的战场作战方式。HEL TD将提高作战人员对抗火箭弹、炮弹和迫击炮弹的能力。
For the first time in almost a month from November 18 to December 10, 2013, the U.S. Army successfully intercepted more than 90 mortar rounds and several UAVs using HEL Laser. The HEL MD project is based on the HELD project of the United States Army. The HEL TD project is the basis for the US Army’s High Energy Laser Program, which aims to develop a laser weapon system that significantly improves the battlefield operations of US soldiers. HEL TD will improve the ability of combatants to combat rockets, artillery shells and mortar shells.
